A little late in posting our Halloween pics.  What a fun Halloween it was.  Started out on Friday the 30th with Cole's school parade, then Trick-or-treating in Magnolia Village, then a Peps potluck with all the kids.  On the 31st, we had two fun birthday parties, pumpkin carving and then trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.  We capped off Sunday with another birthday party.  Weather report: we battled wind, rain, and cold.  Since then, another huge storm has come in - loss of electricity, trees down, crazy thunder & lightning - you name it!

Chilly Pumpkins

Let's just put it this way - it's freezing!  We are having a big storm right now as well, so it's raining like mad.  Our October weekends were booked solid and the only day we could do the Jubilee Farm pumpkin patch was yesterday (normally we go earlier in October).  So rain or shine, off we went.  Thank goodness, we were spared the rain, but not the cold.  It was difficult to get pictures of Cole smiling and at one point he said, "Mommy - let's go home."  A California guy at heart.

So despite that...we had a great time!  Who doesn't love tractor rides, hay mazes, cutting your own pumpkin off the vine, and hot bevvies?  Here are a few highlights!

7 Months Already?

Kate is reaching big girl status.  She finally passed the 16lb mark and as you'll see below, we had to lower her crib last night.  She loves to sleep on her stomach now and is still just a happy baby (other than teething).

I attempted a wee bit of a photo shoot with the kids - which is getting harder and harder to do.  Cole used to be able to hold her.  Our little photo shoot turned into a wrestling match.  I got them on video too...Cole had her laughing like crazy.

6 Months...Summer's Over

I remember thinking that when Kate turns 6 months old, our summer will be concluding.  Wow!  Did that go fast.  Multiple clothing sizes later, many night-time feedings, smiling, laughing, sitting up, and now two teeth!  What a great summer it's been.  We had her 6 month check up today.  Doctor recommends high-fat solids like avocado, as this little peanut only weighed in at 14lbs, 14oz.  She was 27" tall which is 90%.  All in all, a beautiful, happy, healthy little girl.  She is such a delight to have around!  Cole adores her and we do too!  Kate - you have completed our little family!

Little miss Kate is changing by the minute!  Her newest trick of sitting up is so fun for her.  She's getting really good at it too.  This week we decided to give her a few more firsts - taking a bath with Cole and trying out some rice cereal.  The bath was a success - she had so much fun trying to grab Cole's toys!  The rice cereal wasn't too well-received, so instead I just let her smear it all over her high chair.  Cole had a tough time with textures and foods that were slimy or wet when he was her age.  So I thought what the heck, let's let her make a mess.  And boy was she happy!  Her smile is infectious.  She starts smiling now as soon as we get out the camera and I swear when we say "hiiiiii" to her, she says it right back.

Sit...Stay!

I forget how much one day makes a difference in an infant's life.  Yesterday, no sitting up by herself.  Today, she acts like she's been sitting up her whole life.  She had so much fun!  Now, no crawling yet!

 

I can't keep up!

I've gone back to work at Starbucks and I'm WAY behind on my blog posts.  We've had a lot going on!  Craig turned 40 and we celebrated with a fantastic weekend in Suncadia.  Thank you to our wonderful friends who celebrated with us!  A little rain, a lot of sun, golf, a lot of toddlers having fun, a fiesta and great memories!

 

Our big boy turned 3 years old on August 5.  Hard to believe.  He had his 3 year check up (no shots!) and weighed in at 32lbs even and was 38 1/2" tall.  He continues growing like crazy even though his appetite only consists of fruit, chicken dinosaurs and any dairy products.  I guess I don't need to worry.

Cole had his 3rd birthday party at Ella Bailey Park in our neighborhood.  It was a perfect, hot day and the kids had a blast.  Theme: race cars and BYOB (bring your own bike).  The park has a riding loop and all the kids got to ride around.  Cole got a new big boy bike (with training wheels) for his birthday.  He was thrilled (almost as much as Craig was in giving it to him).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Craig's mom and Roger came to visit for Cole's actual birthday.  What a fun trip we all had!  They took Cole to the acquarium, the Children's Museum and showered him with birthday gifts, like this amazing new airplane!

 

 

 

And lastly, Kate is on the move.  This is definitely not where I left her.

The Hodge's took us out for a little birthday cruise last night.  This hot weather is good for boating!  Thank you!  Here are a few shots.

So long crib.  We'll miss you for sure, but we're on to bigger and better beds now. 

Potty training necessitated moving Cole into a regular bed.  He has transitioned like a champ.  Good job Cole!!!
